Enjoy the Peony Gardens at Seneca Creek State Park. The gardens include a formal planting of dozens of varieties of peonies in a plot surrounded by benches with plenty of shade. Seneca Creek also offers lovely views of Clopper Lake and trails for short hikes or longer ones, including a 4-mile trail along the shores of the lake. Meet at Seneca Creek State Park, 11950 Clopper Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20878. To find the Peony Garden, enter the park at the Clopper Road entrance. After you pass the entrance gate, continue straight until you get to the first intersection. Turn left toward the maintenance yard. The Peony Garden and open field will be on your right. Cars can park on the shoulder on your left. No prior registration is required - interested walkers should just arrive at the designated area and time of the walk.
