We have rescheduled our Annual New Year’s Eve Hike along the C&O Canal Towpath to January 1 because the weather forecast for 12/31 looks iffy.

Let’s come together as we begin 2025 to enjoy one another and the bounty of Mother Nature.  We will walk 2+ miles round trip, but you are welcome to turn around at any point to shorten your trek.

All are welcome!  Bring your friends, family, and walking buddies.

Location: Pennyfield Lock on the C&O Canal (Meet at the footbridge near the Lockhouse), Pennyfield Parking Area, Travilah, MD

Directions: Head north on River Road from Potomac. Once you pass Travilah Road on your right, make the first left onto Pennyfield Road. Drive all the way down Pennyfield Road until you cross a one-lane bridge. Turn left and follow the road until it ends.  Watch out for potholes!! Walk through the wooden gate and follow the trail to the footbridge.
