Art Reading Group (First meeting)

  • Teamania Cafe 130 Rollins Avenue Rockville, MD, 20852 United States (map)

Attention Art Lovers: NBV is starting an Art Reading Group for those who love the topic and would like to discuss it with others. The format will employ a facilitator-led discussion of non-fiction books and articles on art-related themes by writers, such as Sebastian Smee, who writes for the WashingtonPost, or Hugh Eakin, whose book “Picasso’s War: How Modern Art Came to America” discusses America’s late response to such art.

During the first session, the facilitator will lead a discussion of NBV members’ interests and a discussion of the themes in the first chapter in the thought-provoking book, What Art Is by Arthur C. Danto. The book is available on Amazon in paperback, Kindle, and in the list of used books.

Also possible in the future might be group outings to local museums or other art installations to view specific exhibits.

This first meeting will be held at Teamania, 130 Rollins Ave, Suite B, Rockville.

If interested, please RSVP to Beth Rabinovich at: bethr922@yahoo.com.
