This presentation updates current or soon-to-be grandparents or caregivers on the latest information on infant care, age-appropriate behavior management as the child ages, and basic first aid skills to make sure the caregiver can take advantage of current knowledge on:
· Safe sleep practices and current guidance for infants
· Feeding basics, allergies, and choking prevention
· Childproofing the home and preventing common injuries
· Handling minor illnesses, fevers, and when to call a parent or doctor
· Managing tantrums, screen time, and age-appropriate activities
· Basic first aid and what to do in an emergency
· Working as a team with the parents on routines and expectations.
The presentation will be given by a representative of Mindful Beginnings, a local organization staffed by certified teachers, registered nurses, and experienced youth-program leaders.
