American Mah Jongg — Beginner Class (Third lesson)

  • Davis Library 6400 Democracy Boulevard Bethesda, MD, 20817 (map)

Interested in learning American Mah Jongg? Sign up for a series of four lessons led by Deborah Bloch, an NBV neighbor and avid Mah Jongg player.

Mah Jongg is a tile-based game developed in the 19th century in China and has spread throughout the world. Similar to the Western card game Rummy, Mah Jongg is a game of skill, strategy, and luck.

In this class you will learn standard American Mah Jongg according to National Mah Jongg League rules. After attending the series of classes, participants are welcome to join NBV’s weekly sessions of open Mah Jongg play held at the library on Tuesday afternoons.

The cost of the four-lesson series is $15. The dates are November 13 and 20, and December 4 and 11.

We will meet in the lower level meeting room at Davis Library, 6400 Democracy Blvd, Bethesda.

Note: Session size is limited to the first 12 participants who register. Register at: https://bit.ly/MahJonggClass
