NBV Green Team Meeting
Davis Library, Lower Level Meeting Room
6400 Democracy Boulevard, Bethesda, MD 20817
The NBV Green Team will be meeting on July 14th at the Davis Library from 2:00-3:30 p.m. We will be discussing FOOD.
To prepare, please watch the 74 minute documentary “Just Eat It: A Food Waste Story”. You can find it on Prime, Netflix, and YouTube.
“Filmmakers and food lovers Jen and Grant dive into the issue of waste from farm, through retail, all the way to the back of their own fridge. After catching a glimpse of the billions of dollars of good food that is tossed each year in North America, they pledge to quit grocery shopping cold turkey and survive only on foods that would otherwise be thrown away.”
There is much to discuss and we'll be having a lively conversation. Also, feel free to bring a favorite recipe that you enjoy making for summer. We can greenly inspire each other by sharing favorite summer cooking ideas.
Bonus credit if you read the article “Seeds of Doubt” by Elizabeth Kolbert in the June 30, 2025 New Yorker. Kolbert writes about the Green Revolution, its successes and failures, and how the failures hurt those communities that were supposed to be helped. If you don't get the New Yorker, you can access it online with your MCPL card, which, as you probably already know, is one of the most valuable items you own.
We look forward to seeing you and hearing your thoughts on July 14th.
