The Revolutions exhibit provides a major survey of artwork that characterized the transformative period of Modernism and the ascendancy of abstraction as well as new currents in science and philosophy and ever-increasing mechanization.
The exhibit spotlights the rush of art-historical movements and genres through the work of artists interested in engaging the mind, not just the eye.
The exhibit fills the Museum’s second-floor outer-circle galleries and rotates the artwork on primarily a chronological approach to historical movements to showcase old as well as new works.
Followed by optional lunch at the Nat’l Museum of the Amer. Indian.
The Hirshhorn Museum is located at Independence Ave & 7th St, SW, Washington, DC 20560
