SPECIAL EVENT: Women Artists of the DMV -- A Docent-led Tour (Katzen Arts Center at AU)

The American University (AU) Museum at the Katzen Arts Center is at the center of the current showings of "Women Artists of the DMV," which is being staged across 16 art spaces representing Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.  The Katzen Arts Center will house the largest exhibition of art created by established as well as emerging DMV female visual artists.

The exhibitions were curated by F. Lennox "Lenny" Campello andrepresent the cultural and ethnic diversity of the DMV/  Besides the AU Museum, exhibitions will be shown at 15 other venues, including The Mansion at Strathmore (North Bethesda), Artists & Makers (Rockville), The Writers Center (Bethesda) and The Athenaeum (Alexandria).

Our November visit will be guided by AU student guides.  After the tour, participants are welcome to join in for lunch at Millie's Spring Valley (seafood) restaurant on Massachusetts Avenue near the Crate and Barrel store.  On-street parking is available or lot parking is at 50% cost when validated by Millie's.

Tour participants can take public transportation (metro to Friendship Heights then bus toward Ward Circle and Massachusetts Ave.) or drive and park in the Katzen Center's public garage ($2 per hour' self pay at parking kiosks) off Massachusetts Avenue.   If driving, please consider car pooling to reduce traffic and spread the cost of parking.
