World Dining at La Mexicana Bar & Grill

Join us for an excursion into a casual neighborhood bar setting in an area that can be easily overlooked or disregarded.  September’s World Dining Adventure is taking us for a little dip into Mexico where the family owners are the chefs so that the food is made fresh and tastes like home cooking.

During the week, the bar is very quiet and has a leisurely sense to it.  There is both seating at individual tables on a raised platform as well tall tables on the main floor for a more happy-hour-like feel.  And although it also has a long bar with many seats, it is very quiet (no bar televisions on) during the work week. 

That said, the bar does host events on the weekends (Friday and Saturday evenings), highlighting local music, stand-up comedy and magic shows as well as a twice-a-month Sunday trivia night during the summer (to fund local charities).  These events incur different entrance prices.

But if your curiosity is peaked, come join us for lunch at La Mexicana Bar and Grill.  It is located off Shady Grove Road in a row of small shops and restaurants (e.g., Milano’s pizza and Kitchen and Bath store).  The parking lot serves both these small shops as well as Checker’s fast food.
